The Sensing Layer of Precision Agriculture commonly refers to the physical components like sensors used for collecting data regarding crop and environmental conditions. The form of data collected in the Sensing Layer are:

  • Sound Data: This is acoustic information gathered through sensors that can be used to monitor different aspects of crop fields.
  • Ambient or Physical Data: These are physical measurements collected to understand soil conditions and plant health in detail.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Process

The next step in Precision Farming is the use of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. The AI technology helps farmers to make a proper analysis of the crops and to deal with the plant’s health. The artificial intelligence process includes machine learning models, Data analytics, and certain pattern recognition making farmers easy to understand crop conditions.

Human-in-the-Loop

The next step that has to be followed in Precision AG is involving a human or an expert in dealing with plant health.
